Offshore Analysis & Research Solutions was established in 2006 to combine efforts of exceptionally qualified peers motivated towards providing a multi-disciplinary range of services to the geoscience industry.
OARS is headquartered in Austin, Texas (USA), with a satellite marketing office located in Houston, Texas (USA).
The OARS team has over 30 years of combined worldwide experience amongst key personnel, as well as unparalleled practical knowledge provided by consulting associates.

Matthew Meyer President – Geoscientist
Mr. Meyer has over 8 years of diversified professional and consulting experience in the geoscience industry. He has a strong background in project management, hydrographic survey, marine geophysical interpretation, geotechnical sampling and analysis, and GIS/CAD mapping and design. He has the technical experience to provide interpretation and mapping support to projects including engineering and construction design, geological/geophysical site surveys, sediment dredging, slope stability assessments, and contaminated sediment management. Prior to OARS, Matthew was employed by Williamson & Associates as a senior geophysicist, and by The RETEC Group as an environmental geologist. Since 1999, he has also contracted as an independent geophysical and GIS consultant for a variety of clients. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, and a Master of Science degree in Geological Oceanography.
Ryan Thomas Vice President – Geoscientist
Mr. Thomas has over 8 years of diversified professional and consulting experience in the geoscience industry. He has a strong background in offshore and land based project development, operations monitoring, hydrographic survey, geophysical interpretation, and seismic QA/QC. He has the technical experience to provide support to projects including engineering and construction design, geological/geophysical site surveys, land based geophysical surveys, and archaeological searches. Prior to OARS, Ryan was employed by Williamson & Associates as a senior geophysicist for three years. Since 2000, he has also contracted as an independent geophysical consultant for a variety of clients. He holds Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Sciences, a Bachelor of Arts degree in German, and a Master of Science degree in Geological Oceanography.
Erick Huchzermeyer Chief Technology Officer – Geophysicist
Mr. Huchzermeyer has over 9 years of diversified professional and consulting experience in the geoscience industry. He has a strong background in coastal oceanography, geotechnical analysis, hydrographic survey, and marine geophysical interpretation. He has the technical experience to provide support to projects including littoral and coastal zone surveys, geological/geophysical site surveys, and 3-D seismic QA/QC. Prior to OARS, Erick was employed by Williamson & Associates as a marine geophysicist, by NAVO as an oceanographer, and by Western Geophysical as a field geophysicist. Since 2000, he has also contracted as an independent geophysical consultant for a variety of clients. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Sciences, and a Master of Science degree in Geological Oceanography.
Brian Brookshire Chief Marketing Officer – Geological Oceanographer
Mr. Brookshire has over 7 years of diversified academic and consulting experience. He has a strong background in desktop and background studies as well as geophysical data acquisition, analysis and reporting. He has the technical experience to provide support to projects including geological/geophysical site surveys for purposes of regional geological characterization and anthropogenic hazard clearance. He has extensive experience in various coring methodologies including piston, gravity, vibra, box, and multi-coring apparatuses. He also has a strong academic background in geochemical and geotechnical analysis such as stable isotopic and micropaleontologic characterization of sedimentary sequences. Prior to OARS, Brian worked with the USGS Center for Coastal Geology, and the Florida Marine Research Institute (division of FWC). Brian has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Geology, and a Master of Science degree in Geological Oceanography. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Geological Oceanography.
